According to a gross prank from Global Associated News, “Actor Luke Perry is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today – October 28, 2011.”
The rumor is spreading on Facebook, Twitter and other social media.
Perry is NOT dead.
He’s alive and well. A rep for Perry laughed off the rumor, He’s very much alive,” adding, “The last thing he’d be doing is snowboarding in Zermatt.”
The FAKE report claimed that while at a ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland, “Perry lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed… Perry was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash.”
So, does this rumor sound familiar?
It should.
It’s been used to “kill” dozens of celebrities in hoaxes in the past.
