The other members of this class are Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, The Everly Brothers and Little Richard.
Kevin Magowan wanted to correct the error.
The long-time fan of Buddy Holly made a pilgrimage from Los Angeles to Lubbock in 2009.
He went to Dallas widow Maria Elena Holly Holly meet, and tell her that he wanted to help Buddy get the stars.
She gave him permission to represent her.
Mary knew that if the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is not present to accept the nomination package without the $ 25,000 cost for the creation and installation of all 300-pounds, and used for general maintenance.
"I thought this was for me to do is to nominate myself for my husband and the fee payable would be sticky," she told the AJ.
No company was willing to pay the full $ 25,000.
However, when Paul McCartney's MPL Communications, Peer Music and Universal Records showed they could split the fee in three ways, all agreed to finance the effort.
Magowan also played an important role in finding the best place for Buddy star: near the Beatles. In fact, the block next to Buddy star Paul McCartney, who is not present at the time and had to be taken aside.
Like the West Texas Walk of Fame in Lubbock, it is necessary to every living Jubilar a personal appearance at their induction ceremony.
The star induction ceremony always takes place at 11.30 hours and 13.30 hours Texas time clock, after Ana Martinez at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Lubbock KCBD-TV is a live feed of the Buddy Holly-star ceremony on a "watch party" at 1:30 Wednesday at the clock Buddy Holly Center, 1801 Crickets Ave can be viewed.

Usain Bolt leads Jamaica to relay world record
The world's fastest man Usain Bolt 4x100m relay anchored Jamaica to gold in world record for the last race of the 13th World Athletics Championships on Sunday.
As so often before, Bolt crossed the line to fend for themselves and again the performances of all cast in shadow.
Mo Farah was clinching 5,000 m gold for Britain in a great race, that a suitable climax, a dramatic Daegu playing great show, but now that the brace must Bolt and his compatriots, the first world record for the World Cup in the first sense, his last event.
Looking at the clock, it seemed 50 meters as fast as Bolt crossed the finish line, his baton high into the crowd and threw the infectious celebration began.
His dance is only be described as world class, too.
"For me it was but it quickly. We have just that. I'm proud of my team," said Bolt after setting the record 37.04.
Mr. Monk and the Mug Shot
Gary Mugford at Mug Shots were about MR. Monk on the bench a great review. He said in part:
Goldberg looks forward to the freedom at the end of his TV series. That is clear. It is strange to find this album, for Natalie-centric, while in fact they told each book, and it is their voice in your head all the time. But in the previous 11 books in the series, Monk was the voice of most of the time.
[...] As reported in the late-night infomercials, to say, but wait, there's more. While Natalie is doing her P.I. with training wheels, there are other murders for Adrian Monk to solve. And she does it solve. Only for a suit from the top of the police to be invalid solutions because there is no evidence that he is right. Knowing who and what passes through a series of murders appears frustratingly inadequate, a "Here's what happened" moment, without the payment / conviction.
Natalie and Detective Amy Devlin rescue of the case by thinking and working outside the box. We see Natalie working "undercover" for the first time. And I bet you will not be the last.
The question is posed in the book, what happened to Natalie, if something happens to Monk? You could return to her family. But not now. We know the answer.
He's right, I have fun with the latest books MONK. Because the TV series ended, I have a few chances with the characters and there is always the series fresh ... I thought if you read all the books, you think the changes as a natural evolutionary step in their message, see (especially with Natalie, plays an arc that began with MR. MONK and dirty COP).
MR. PATROL monk comes in January, to build at least on the issues and events in MR. MONK on the couch. And the person I am now writing, MR. MONK is a mess, is a direct continuation of the PATROL (in the same way that MR. MONK miserable was a direct sequel to MR. Monk Germany).
I'm just a vague idea where the next book is ... But it's nice to be able to characters in a way that I did not when I was able to ensure the continuity of the TV show drive to work.
